Hello Wheelhomies!
The holidays are upon us and this is the busiest time in the studio! We have events lined up and excited to celebrate the season with you! Here are important announcements and studio closure reminders!
1. HOLIDAY POTLUCK Sunday, 12/8 @ 5pm - 8pm(ish). Wheelhomies have the best potlucks! The food is always amazing, second only to the company! +1s are welcome to join!
- Please sign up here if plan to attend, it'll help us get a headcount for planning games and prizes: WHC Sign-Up Sheet.
- Gift Exchange: If you'd like to participate in our gift exchange, please bring a gift that is valued at $30 min. Details about exchanges TBD on Discord!
- You will also get WHC bucks (fake money lol) just by simply attending to participate in our auction for prizes! There will be games, trivia, etc. for a chance to win more $. =)
- Karaoke!
2. WHC MERRY MARKET , Holiday Sale on Saturday, 12/14 @ 11am - 4pm: Come by and support your fellow members and staff. We will be showcasing our art which will be available for your gifting needs. There will also be an Ornament Painting Station to fundraise for scholarships for our Summer Camp Youth Program-- great for families and kids!
Attached is our flyer to pass along to your friends/post on socials. There are also physical copies by the sign-in station if you'd like!
3. GLAZE CHEMISTRY 7-WEEK WORKSHOP W/ YUKI (2/6 - 3/20, Thursdays @ 6pm, $525, 8 spots only!) - We were able to finalize things with Yuki and can't wait to offer this Members Only advanced class! Since we've narrowed things down before we opened sign-ups, I'll be removing names on the sign-up sheet that didn't confirm. If you change your mind, please sign-up again before spots fill. 4. CLOSURES - Please make sure you check our Studio Calendar for all events and studio closures: WHC STUDIO CALENDAR. We will be closed for all studio access during these dates:
- Wednesday, 11/27 to Sunday, 12/1 for Thanksgiving Break (staff NEEDS it! )
- Sunday, 12/22 to 12/29 for Christmas Break
During these times, we will be very slow or will not respond at all to studio function and/or requests for studio access. If there's an instance that we choose to open, we will announce on Discord!
- Annual Studio Major Refresh - Tentative Date: 1/4 + 1/5. Volunteers needed to help clean up and sanitize the studio for the new year! More deets later.
5. FIRING SCHEDULES - We know you want to get those pieces fired ASAP for the holidays, trust us, we do too and so do all the other members and students! We try our best to get things fired as soon as possible but loading kilns and firing them safely takes time! PLEASE REFRAIN FROM ASKING STAFF ABOUT LOADINGS AND FIRINGS! As I said on Discord, "We know that holidays are approaching and everyone is making things as gifts but this will forever stand no matter what occasion: WE ARE NOT A PRODUCTION STUDIO (unless you rent the private workspace which comes with the freedom to load your own kilns) AND THEREFORE, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE TO MAKE ANY PERSONAL FIRING DEADLINES- EVER. If you want things to be fired on time for sure, you have to make it way in advance. Thank you for understanding and we would really appreciate it if members refrain from asking because it stresses us out. Just know we try our very best! We always do for y'all."
