Course Description
Join Adrianne Ngam of Mudmouth Ceramics for a two-day slab building workshop and create one of her amazing designs, the horse! The workshop will include an Artist Talk where she will talk about her inspirations and design processes. Comes with everything you need! Adrianne will provide an overview of her process at the start and will guide us through rolling and joining slabs for successful building and firing. While constructing, Adrianne will provide guidance and troubleshooting techniques and tips. Each student will fire one horse design. Once bisqued (3-5 weeks after workshop), we will let you know when they are ready via email and you can come back and glaze your pieces which we will fire for you up to cone 5. Students are welcome to have their pieces bisque fired and can later pick up to glaze and fire in their own studios. Student Materials List: We will provide everything you need! All you have to do is show up eager and ready to learn! =) Workshop Dates: Saturday, February 7 + Sunday, February 8, 2026, 9am - 2pm DAY ONE: Saturday | 9 AM – 2 PM - Artist introduction + design talk - Template cutting + layout - Construction demos - Assemble core components DAY TWO: Sunday | 9 AM – 2 PM - Finish assembly by joining components - Add texture and (optionally) saddle and reins - Finalize and finish piece OPTIONAL ADD-ON GLAZE DAY ($60): 3/14 | 9AM ~ 12PM We will send a link to enrollment after booking the workshop. - Adrianne will go over her glazing techniques. Brush-on glazes chosen by Adrianne will be available to share. WHEELHOUSE CLAY CANCELLATION POLICY Clay Play One-Time Classes: Once enrollment is booked, enrollment is non-refundable and non-transferrable to another date. Should a class not fill sufficiently, we may cancel it one week prior to the first class session and will issue a refund. 6-Week Sessions and Youth Classes: To request a cancellation and refund, you must email wheelhouseclaysf@gmail.com. Refunds requested more than one week prior to the first day of the session are fully refundable minus a processing and administration fee of $80. Refunds requested within one week from the first day of the beginning of the session are 50% refundable minus processing and administration fee of $80. There will be no refunds once the session begins. Should a class not fill sufficiently, we may cancel it one week prior to the first class session and issue full refunds to those who enrolled.
