HB Intro: Fall Theme (FS1 #5 Wed @ 6pm)

Course Description

A 6-week intro course that will open the door to endless possibilities of clay inspired by fall and Sweater Weather! Learn the foundations of handbuilding and structural techniques to make your ceramic ideas come to life! From functional to sculptural, we will teach you the building blocks and guide you through expected challenges. Great beginning course for those who really want to get to know clay! Sweater Weather Syllabus: Week 1 - She’s GOURDgeous: Learn how to create pumpkin sculptures from pinch pots Week 2 - Into the Woods: Continue using the pinch pot method to create lidded containers that look like they were found in the woods... Is it an acorn? A mushroom? A GHOST?? You decide! Week 3 - Burn, baby, burn!: Learn the coiling method to create candle holders and incense burners. Will you create a spooky addition to your Halloween decor or add a cozy vibe to your harvest season tablescape? Why not both? Week 4 - Cozy Game Night Challenge: Students use rolling pins to create slabs for the board and sculpt little tokens for the gameplay :) Week 5 - Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice: Learn the sgraffito technique and spend the rest of class time finishing their projects Week 6 - Glazing Day! Cancellation Policy

WHEELHOUSE CLAY CANCELLATION POLICY Clay Play One-Time Classes: Once enrollment is booked, enrollment is non-refundable and non-transferrable to another date. Should a class not fill sufficiently, we may cancel it one week prior to the first class session and will issue a refund. 6-Week Sessions: To request a cancellation and refund, you must email wheelhouseclaysf@gmail.com. Refunds requested more than one week prior to the first day of the session are fully refundable minus a processing and administration fee of $80. Refunds requested within one week from the first day of the beginning of the session are 50% refundable minus processing and administration fee of $80. There will be no refunds once the session begins. Should a class not fill sufficiently, we may cancel it one week prior to the first class session and issue full refunds to those who enrolled.
