Course Description
We are super excited to have you at Wheelhouse! =) Our Clay Play one-time trial classes are designed with beginners in mind--- if you have never touched clay before, you will be all right! Keep in mind that pottery takes a lot of practice to get good at, so come with low expectations and for a fun experience first and foremost and you'll have a great time! Some additional information about your ceramic pieces: - Students make about 1-3 pieces during the class. We encourage students to only keep what they like for sustainability! - There will be 5 different beautiful glazes everyone can choose from for each piece--- we will then clean up + glaze your creations and fire them for you. - It will take 5-6 weeks for us to finish them up and we will send an email with pick-up information when they are ready to be taken home! ***We will hold on to your finished pieces for six months after we send you the pick-up information confirmation email in order to save limited space in our studio. Abandoned pieces will be donated/included in one of our market fundraisers. Some recommended preparations before class to ensure a great experience: - Please arrive at least 5 minutes before class starts. - We will provide aprons but in case you really get into it, clay washes right off in the washing machine! We do recommend participants to wear comfortable clothing and footwear that you don't mind getting splatters of clay on--- it will most likely happen. - For ease of technique, we recommend having short nails. - For those who have long hair, please bring a hair tie. - Remove hand + wrist jewelry, e.g. rings, bracelets, watches, etc. and put them in your bags or own pockets before we start. Do not put anything in our aprons-- we've had students forget their precious things in them! - Be warned-- it could get addicting! =) If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. We look forward to clayin' with you at the studio! *If you want to know how many spots are left in a class in case you want your pals to join in, check the "Number of Participants" drop down window and it will tell you how many more spots are left out of 10 max! If you only see "1" that means there's only one spot left.
WHEELHOUSE CLAY CANCELLATION POLICY Clay Play One-Time Classes: Once enrollment is booked, enrollment is non-refundable and non-transferrable to another date. Should a class not fill sufficiently, we may cancel it one week prior to the first class session and will issue a refund. 6-Week Sessions and Youth Summer Camps: To request a cancellation and refund, you must email wheelhouseclaysf@gmail.com. Refunds requested more than one week prior to the first day of the session are fully refundable minus a processing and administration fee of $80. Refunds requested within one week from the first day of the beginning of the session are 50% refundable minus processing and administration fee of $80. There will be no refunds once the session begins. Should a class not fill sufficiently, we may cancel it one week prior to the first class session and issue full refunds to those who enrolled.
